David Wilmot Peiser

Dr Dave Peiser grew up in Pretoria and did his training at the University of Pretoria. After working at Ga-Rankuwa Hospital in the Family Medicine Department, he was appointed Superintendent at Manguzi Hospital in Northern Zululand. It was at Manguzi that he met Pete Vogts and Mark Stead – and the rest is history!
Dave is married to Les, and they have two children, Barry and Stacey, and three grandchildren, Jude, Jensen and Hope.
In 1990 the family moved to Howick and took over the White House Doctors practice from Dr Robin Stephenson. Dave has been the Howick Hospice Chairman for 15 years and is still the Sunfield Home doctor.
At present he is establishing a lay counselling group called Hope Counselling in Hilton where he is actively involved in Hilton Christian Fellowship.
On his off days, Dave dabbles in a bit of bird watching, trail running and growing vegetables in his garden.

Dr Peter Vogts graduated with a MBChB from UCT in 1983. Pete worked in hospital medicine for 7 years at the Windhoek State Hospital, where he obtained a diploma in anaesthetics and child health, before moving on the Mseleni Hospital in Northern Zululand.
Pete joined Dave Peiser in December 1990 and Mark Stead joined them in 1992/3.
Pete’s interests lie in family medicine, having completed the family medicine course through Medunsa University.
Pete has worked on the Howick and District Council for the Care of the Aged (HADCA) board for more than 25 years.
Pete is married to Beth, and they have four children and two grandchildren.
Pete is a Christian (having been converted in 1982 in Cape Town) and is fully involved in Christ Church Howick.

Dr Len de Kramer grew up in Bloemfontein and then in Umkomaas and matriculated from Glenwood High School before completing his MBChB at Bloemfontein’s Universiteit van die Oranje Vrystaat. He trained in the East London Hospital Complex and at East Boom Community Health Centre in Pietermaritzburg.
Dr de Kramer has a special clinical interest in ADHD and holds a Diploma in Travel Medicine. Through a Rotary Exchange program, he lived in Brazil for a year, where he became fluent in Portuguese, and married his wife, Sandra, who’s family is from the island of Madeira.
Deeply community-focused, Dr de Kramer is actively involved in multiple initiatives within the Howick community and serves his local catholic parish, St Joseph’s in Cedara. A devoted family man with three children, he enjoys outdoor activities such as fishing and hunting as well as gardening in his free time, with a particular passion for growing fruit trees and vegetables.
Shaun Nischk

Dr Nischk completed his BSc Human Life Sciences degree at Stellenbosch University in 2008. After travelling and working abroad, he furthered his studies at WITS, where he completed his BSc Hons and MBBCh degree in 2019.
After completing his internship at Edendale, Greys and Northdale Hospital in Pietermaritzburg, he then completed his Community Service at East Boom Community Health Centre in Pietermaritzburg in 2022.
Shaun’s medical special interests include acute care medicine, orthopaedics and family medicine.
Shaun is a family man. In his free time you will find him spending time with his family outdoors, on the golf course, running or enjoying a great passion of his; fishing. Shaun and his wife Adelle have two children, William and Anna.
Sam Lindsay

Dr Sam Lindsay studied medicine at Tuks, completing her MBChB in 2002. After her internship, she spent 17 years living in Rustenburg. There she worked for five years in public health, before transitioning to private GP practice, where she also assisted in surgery, and worked in procedural sedation and pain management, obtaining post-graduate certification in this area. During this time, she married her wonderful husband, Sean, and had three gorgeous children: Chris, Kay-Anne and Jono.
In December 2020 – just before the beaches were closed in the second Covid wave – Dr Lindsay and her family made the KZN Midlands their new home. Upon arrival, she briefly worked at the Ketamine Clinic and Taylor’s Halt government clinic before finding her place in several local practices on a part-time basis.
Dr Lindsay’s philosophy centres on holistic patient care, addressing not only physical ailments but also nurturing mental and emotional well-being.
When she’s not at work, you will find Dr Lindsay busy connecting with her family and friends, reading or doing something musical. Actually, you’ll probably hear her singing or whistling to herself while she’s at work too!
David Palframan

Dr David Palframan grew up in Eshowe in KwaZulu-Natal and matriculated from Durban High School before completing his MBChB at the University of Cape Town, graduating in 2021. He holds additional accreditation in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), and has received training in basic emergency ultrasound.
He completed his internship at the Pietermaritzburg Hospital Complex in KwaZulu-Natal, followed by his community service year at Prince Albert Hospital in the Karoo. After this, Dr Palframan opened a general practice in Prince Albert with his wife, Ché, who worked alongside him as his practice manager. They worked together for a year before relocating to the Midlands in June 2025. He joined HMCD in September 2025. His clinical interests include acute care medicine, family medicine and HIV care.
Having recently moved to Howick in 2026, Dr Palframan is keen to become actively involved in the local community. Outside of medicine, he enjoys learning about the natural sciences and wildlife, reading — particularly fantasy — and staying active through squash and other racquet sports. He and his wife share their home with four cats, who keep them thoroughly entertained.
