During the National COVID-19 lockdown period, Dr Jonathan Cook has been advised to take medical leave while undergoing radiation and chemotherapy treatment. As a medical professional in contact with possible coronavirus cases, he is deemed a high risk to staff and other patients in the oncology departments. His treatment is also likely to lower his immunity. His treatment regime will need to be interrupted should he be required to self-isolate for 14 days as a result of direct contact with an infected patient, or contract the virus himself.
On a positive note, Dr Cook would like to inform his patients that his cancer treatment has a very good chance of cure, and he looks forward to resuming his practice as soon as the COVID-19 threat of infection has diminished.
Dr Cook is most appreciative of the support of his colleagues and knows that his patients will be in excellent hands.
The rest of the doctors will be available for consultations as usual during these difficult times.
